VURRN Press announces the publication of its second book:

The Recruitment and Selection of Vice-Chancellors
for Australian Universities

by Bernard O’Meara and Stanley Petzall

This book examines the processes which are used to recruit and select Vice-Chancellors for Australian universities. While previous research has identified demographic and incumbency patterns, social characteristics and the legal
basis of the roles of Australian VC’s, the actual processes of recruitment and selection of these individuals has not previously been researched in any depth. As such, this study is new and ground-breaking. A regional and a metropolitan university are used as case studies to show parallels between recruitment and selection in universities and in the private sector.
